70s is back for Spring/Summer 2015

70s header

With the likes of Chloe, Alberta Ferretti and Etro all showing off their 70s inspired spring/summer collections on the catwalk, the 70s trend is sure to be a hit this coming season.

I absolutely love this trend – although I wasn’t a child of the 70s it really takes me back to my teens when I used to shop in charity shops hunting for those 70s vintage items. I still have a suede and wool gilet I bought when I was 14, I will definitely be bringing that out this season!

What do I love about this trend?

It’s pretty, it’s funky, it certainly isn’t boring and the one thing I love the most is the ‘floatyness’ (not a word you will find in the English dictionary…!) long flowing dresses, figure skimming tops and beautifully hung jewellery.

I have had great fun looking at what is available to buy without the catwalk price tag. Take a look at what 70s gems I have found.

THE BEAUTIFUL DRESSES

This dress is just gorgeous. It’s pretty, it’s floaty, and the embellishment on the dress is simply stunning.

Wear with one of these gorgeous tops, my favourite has to be the Athropologie silk peasant top, the print is so unique and the oversized arms are so very 70s.

These are just a few (OK well slightly more than a few..!) ideas I have found, there is so so much more on the high street. When shopping this trend don’t forget to consider your body shape – a maxi dress or skirt is going to be much more flattering to pear shapes than wide leg trousers are for example.

I offer seasonal styling services and would love to help you look and feel amazing, please contact me for a friendly chat if you’d like to find out more.
